Cherry Elegant and classical, cherry is closed grained wood with variation of a pinkish-brown hue. Cherry wood often displays small gum pockets, streaks, pin knots and figures. Part of its natural beauty is that it darkens as it ages.

Oak Northern red oak is known for its predominant grain patterns that run from straight lines to arched and pointed. Lightness and darkness variations are noticeable in lighter finishes. Its consistent coloration makes it a good choice for a wide variety of cabinets.

Maple What distinguishes hard maple wood is the strong, close grain in a predominantly off-white color. Hard maple occasionally contains light tan or reddish streaks that will darken with stain. Look for straight grain, although wavy and curly grain is sometimes found.

Red Birch This distinct moderate grain of selected red birch can vary in pattern from wavy to straight. This hardwood is a blend of a light sapwood color with reddish-brown heartwood. A clear or stain finish is very pleasing alternative to cherry and will not darken with time.
